CISDI to build super-caster for Baowu Echeng Steel

CISDI is to build a new 2,300mm slab caster for Baowu Echeng Steel in China’s Hubei Province.
An equipment supply contract was signed at CISDI’s HQ in Chongqing, with its chairman Xuewen Xiao and Echeng Steel’s senior vice president Chengfu Xie present.
Detailing the company’s history of over 60 years, Mr Xiao highlighted CISDI’s developments fo enterprises in the steel, urban, intelligence and green sectors. “We are fully committed to serving the global steel sector’s demands for consulting, master planning, technology and equipment,” he commented.

Chengfu’s Mr Xie paid tribute to CISDI’s contribution to the Chinese steel sector and invited CISDI to join his company’s green, low carbon and smart collaborations. “We want to build on our past partnership and join hands for long-term, deeper specialist working,” he commented.
The slab caster at Echeng Steel will feature single strand equipment and final slab with a maximum thickness of 360 millimetres. Its projected annual production capacity is 1.60 million tonnes of qualified slab.
CISDI has a toolkit of solutions in place for fulfilling its contractual design, supply and technical assistance obligations.
The company’s experts put forward multiple specialist solutions at the meeting - ranging from intelligent interface tech between ironmaking and steelmaking to AutoARCTM and green, super-efficient power generation tech.
