——— Digital twin-based large BOF proper installation system employed - a sector first

As the EPC-based service provider of steelmaking, rolling tech upgrading and product restructuring at Jiuquan Iron and Steel Co, CISDI has fulfilled a massive milestone - getting BOF 2 into its designated position.

The process was carried out highly efficiently and with ultra-precision by robot automaton.

CISDI was contracted to create one KR-based desulphurisation system, two 100 tonne BOFs, two ladle furnaces, a 7-strand billet caster, a single-strand slab caster, a 4,200mm-specification wide plate rolling line and utilities, and one wide plate heat treatment line and utilities.

The Gansu Province iron and steel giant’s revamped and upgraded plant will feature a gamut of CISDI’s advanced tech and equipment:

✔       Smart steelmaking and expert slab casting mould systems will create China’s highest levels of casting efficiency and slab quality

✔       Single ladle expertise for transporting hot metal from the ironmaking plant to the steelmaking plant will benchmark leading energy consumption indicators for the sector

✔       Lurgi-Thyssen dry-way primary dust collection tech will transform the entire BOF’s system to ultra-low emissions standards

✔       An integrated steelmaking and rolling smart control platform will be built and smart melting and smart logistics equipment will be installed.

The plant is designed to produce 2.30 million tonnes of slabs and 1.20 million tonnes of wide plates a year.

The upgrade programme aims to increase Jiuquan’s range of plates for new energy and green materials markets.
