S&T: First application of Huijin Tech’s HV, high-power molten salt induction heater

Date:2024/1/19 Source: CISDI

Xi’an Huijin Technology Co has delivered its first-ever 10kV/10MW molten salt induction heater.

The company is a CISDI subsidiary for new materials and industrial electroheat tech and is sited in Xi’an, Shaanxi Province.

Its energy-stored electric heater is a global first, directly connecting a high-voltage grid and large-flow induction heating.

The innovation’s destination was China’s energy storage sector. It will be applied at a 10MW photothermal plant in Yumen City, Gansu Province, for the China National Nuclear Corporation.

This major innovation extends storage time and its first-application signifies an accelerated industrialisation in valley power-required steam supply and peak load power generation areas.

Huijin’s induction heater could ease low-voltage and ohmic heating problems experienced globally.

It directly applies high voltages of power within 35kV to accurately heat up molten salts.

Featuring a high power and a fast rate, the heating system showcases a high standard of stability, reliability and energy efficiency (overall higher than 97 per cent).
