Tangshan Yanyang Steel is to build an outstanding new 1,750mm cold strip rolling line, which will showcase the highest standards of production quality, efficiency and intelligence.

The line will be an exceptional example of its kind in China and will optimise Yanyang Steel’s products and its pursuit of orders in the high-end markets.

CISDI, the mill’s package supplier, is integrating its star products - the 5-stand 6-hi tandem rolling mill, a rotary-drum flying shear and a drum coiler. 

The Hebei Province’s line will achieve a designed production capacity of 1.60 million tonnes a year and produce deep-drawing and ultra-high strength (HSS980) steels for the high-end household and automobile sectors.

With its highest rolling speed reaching over 1,400 metres a minute, hot-rolled low-carbon, ultra-low carbon (IF) and high-strength grades will be fed into the line for cold rolling. 

The feedstock’s specifications will range in thickness from 2.0-6.0mm and from 1,000-1,630mm in width. Product specifications will range from 0.3-2.5mm in thickness and 1,000-1,630mm in width.
