MCC-SFRE’s new single-stand 6-hi reversing cold mill is achieving the highest possible productivity figures and creating tangible economic returns.

It has been ranked as a champion manufacturing product by both the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and China’s Federation of Industrial Economics.

The mill was developed by SFRE, which is based in Xi’an in China’s Shaanxi Province, with CISDI Group’s support.

The generation-9 precision mill results in the eco-friendly, highly-efficient production of wide strips. It outperforms the rolling capacity of the original 6-hi mill and meets ultra-heavy reduction rolling requirements, hitting a 96 per cent reduction ratio. 

Its flexibly means various feedstock can be used, without limitation of thickness and materials. 

Excellent quality 0.115-millimetre-thick strip can be produced by six passes of reverse rolling on a 3-milliletre-thick, hot-rolled feedstock, by applying the mill’s largest reduction ratio. 

The mill’s maximum rolling speed is 1,250 metres a minute.
