BOF 3 at the North Zone of TISCO Meltshop 2 is cleaner, greener and more efficient, due to its new, combined fume dust collection system.

CISDI Thermal and Environmental Engineering Co was the EPC-based service provider for a wet dust collection unit with an electrostatic precipitator at the furnace.

It is a standout new product for CISDI Thermal.

To maximise the cleaning effect, CISDI came up with a new solution - installing its wet-type electrostatic precipitator downstream of the existing primary dry dust collector. Nicknamed the LT method, the combined LT plus wet ESP solution breaks new ground in meltshop dust cleaning.

Performing with stable indicators, the dry and wet systems work in harmony and result in a far lower concentration of fume emissions than the national ultra-low emissions standard.

In addition to more efficient dust collection, there is an improvement in BOF gas quality. Higher dust collection capacity helps raise the furnace’s productivity.

During the project, delivery, construction and commissioning was severely challenged by bad weather and the pandemic. But CISD’s determination and high standard of workmanship ensured schedules and quality requirements were maintained.
