CISDI Equipment Co’s long products rolling tech and equipment has transformed production at Shengquan Steel in China’s Sichuan Province.

Two new wire-rod and bar rolling lines are now operating and hitting targets.

CISDI’s separately-driven reducing and sizing mill is the first to go into operation at a Chinese wire-rod rolling line. This represents a break-through for Chinese manufacturing after the country’s long reliance on foreign imports. The innovative RSM ensures precise product dimension and optimal quality. Production lines at the steelworks, which is based in Mianzhu City, now consume less energy. Metal loss has been reduced, waste gas emissions are lower and savings have been made on production costs.

This improved energy efficiency and market competitiveness has been achieved via a number of CISDI’s technological processes and supplies.

The critical technologies applied are:

ü  Continuous casting – hot mill direct rolling

ü  High speed rolling

ü  Thermo-mechanical control process.

CISDI’s unique equipment features:

ü  High-rigidity NHCD short-stress path rolling mill

ü  High-speed reducing and sizing mill

ü  CDMC/IDMC high-speed modular mill.

Cooling boxes installed downstream at the bar rolling line’s Intermediate Mill, its Pre-finishing Mill and Finishing Mill have achieved an advanced level of controlled cooling through rolling. It enables steel grades to be designated with a cooling system appropriate to their cooling targets.

The power-free conveyor and the cooling bed further implement online heat treatment of the steel grades.

As a result, microstructures of final products are substantially enhanced, ensuring product quality. The feedstock’s Mn content can be reduced, making upstream processing cheaper and easier and enabling the company to meet final product strength requirements.

CISDI’s technological leadership brought state-of-the-art process and equipment solutions which are giving Shengquan Steel new impetus to increase the plant’s efficiency.
